Learn how to make your stomach flatter with simple exercises and eating

One of the biggest tips to making your stomach flatter:  STOP DRINKING SODA AND CARBONATED BEVERAGES

Here's some great exercises at home or if you're on the road traveling:

Bodyweight exercises
-- you can alternate lunges, bw squats, pushups, and ab exercises in your hotel room. Whether gaining weight or losing weight is your goal, these exercises will work (if you do them that is) to get your muscles tighter. Try 15 minutes of alternating circuits between those and if done with enough intensity. These exercises are body exercises as compared to doing only a abdomen work out. It's a complete work out and more beneficial.

1. Exercise bands -- These can come in handy while traveling because they're light and portable, and can add a whole slew of exercises into the mix beyond just bodyweight exercises.

2. Stairs -- most hotels have flights of stairs. You can actually take 10 or 15 minutes to purposely go to the stairs and do nothing but go up/down the stairs to get a great workout... mix up walking/running the stairs, taking double steps... you can even mix in stairs lunges and other similar things for variety.

3. Get outside -- even if the hotel has a gym, many times it's small and stuffy. Instead, get outside! It might be possible to find a park or field nearby, and do 20-30 minutes of wind sprints or hill sprints mixed with bodyweight exercises.

4. Maybe even bring a jump rope with you and find a smooth surface to jump rope. Jumping rope is one of the best forms of exercise known to man, but so few people actually do it.

5. The hotel gym dumbbells -- I've noticed that a lot of hotels do have a small set of dumbbells, but they usually only go up to a max of 50 lbs. Even if you're strong enough to use more than 50 lbs for many exercises, this gives you an opportunity to mix up your routines and do versions of dumbbell exercises that maybe you don't usually do or different rep ranges with slightly lighter weights.

6. One of my favorite dumbbell exercises - the dumbbell squat & press... works almost every muscle in your entire body with this one combination move... a big time fat burner!

One of my favorite exercises (and best overall exercise):

Barbell squats:
Start out very light. I'm 54 years old and was away from the gym for about 1 year (yeah, the "don't work demons" were in my head big time), I started out with about 70 lbs. and did 1 to 2 sets of 13-15 reps. Keep your back arched, don't go down all the way, just about half (go deeper if you can).  You don't need to do a lot of weight. This a great exercise that gets many muscle groups and for the most part, if your legs are in descent shape and fairly tight, it makes going up the stairs a bit easier etc.

Another plus/benefit to working out is: the tighter your muscles are the better it is for the joints, that is, the tight muscle helps keep the joints aligned.

If you can get the the gym, do it, otherwise you can do plenty of movement and exercise at home, it just take will power.

Another Great Tip:  Constantly focus on what you're going to eat. Self Talk is very important. If you're at work getting ready to go out with your peers, keep talking to yourself and tell yourself what you're going to get for lunch (ex: "going to eat a salad today").

Trim your cravings tip

One of the biggest things you can do to eliminate cravings and temptations is:
GET ALL THE JUNK FOOD AND BAD FOOD OUT OF THE HOUSE

Get the potatoe chips, candy, cake, ice cream, soda out of the house.  Because when you're in a good mood, bad mood, had a bad day at the office etc. (all the reasons to gorge yourself with junk food)... it won't be available.

IF YOU'RE BLOATED TIP:   Drink a glass of water (8-10 oz.). That will help reduce the bloating in your stomach.

One last Tip: Research

You are reading this article, that's RESEARCH, you're on the right path.  There are very many options out there for you to choose from some GREAT and some not so great. The important tip after you choose a program is: SELF TALK, keep telling yourself "to keep working out", if you fall off and miss a couple of days/weeks, get back on track.

People think in order to get flatter stomachs you have to do thousands of sit ups a day. You really need to do complete body work outs along with eating better, that's the key.
